Annual Charity Gala Raises GHS 120,000 for Treatment Fund

Over 300 guests gathered at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City for our end-of-year fundraising gala, surpassing our target by 40 percent.

The JKAID Hope Foundation Annual Charity Gala, held on 18 December 2025 at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, raised GHS 120,000 for the Foundation's Treatment Fund — surpassing the original target of GHS 85,000 by 40 percent. Over 300 guests attended the black-tie event, including corporate sponsors, diplomats, healthcare professionals, and individual supporters.

The evening opened with a keynote address from a senior representative of the Ghana Ministry of Health, who praised JKAID's approach to pediatric healthcare funding and called for greater public-private collaboration in addressing childhood health disparities. "Organizations like JKAID are filling critical gaps that the public health system alone cannot close," the representative said.

A highlight of the evening was the "Stories of Hope" segment, where three families whose children had received JKAID-funded medical care shared their journeys. There was barely a dry eye in the room as one mother described how her daughter's heart surgery — fully funded by JKAID — had given her child a second chance at life.

The fundraising program included a live auction featuring donated items from corporate sponsors, including holiday packages, artwork by Ghanaian artists, and signed sports memorabilia. The single highest bid of the evening — GHS 15,000 — was for a week-long stay at a luxury resort in Cape Coast, donated by a hospitality partner.

Five new corporate partnership agreements were announced during the gala. These include a major telecommunications company committing to match employee donations, a pharmaceutical distributor pledging quarterly medical supply donations, and a financial services firm sponsoring JKAID's Family Navigation program for 2026.

"This gala is not just about raising money," the JKAID Executive Director told the audience. "It is about building a community of people who refuse to accept that a child's survival should depend on their family's bank balance. Tonight, this room has proven that Ghanaians care deeply about their children's futures."

All funds raised at the gala will be allocated to the Treatment Fund, which directly covers surgical costs, chemotherapy cycles, medication, and emergency medical interventions for children aged 0 to 12. The Foundation publishes quarterly impact reports detailing how every cedi is spent, available on the JKAID website.

Planning for the 2026 gala is already underway. Corporate sponsors and table reservations can be arranged by contacting the JKAID events team.
